Staff Bio:
Joci Rosa was born in the city of Vitoria, Brazil in 1969, a small town in Brazil that produced 5 professional goalkeepers. He started playing soccer when he was 6 years old. From that early age, he began to focus and excel in the position he loved most -- goalkeeper. When he was 14 he began to train with the acclaimed Carols Germano, a former Brazilian National Team goalkeeper. Joci has always played at the goalkeeper position ... in handball, futsal and arena soccer -- becoming a regional champion in futsal and a state champion of handball in high school, and quickly turning professional at 19 years of age! He came to the USA in 1992 where he began coaching young soccer players ages 8-22 . He is the former coach of the Spartak of Newton, MA. His coaching expertise there helped to bring them a state championship with the best goalkeeper record in the competition! He has also been coaching with the Inter SC since 1998 to present. He now joins the MC Falcons coaching staff. Coaching:

Philosophy:Coming from South America, I have been exposed to many coaching styles and a variety of training groups and programs. Many goalkeepers today in America are multi-sport players, which is quite different from South America. I began creating my coaching curriculum by implementing my prior training and incorporating exercises. My preparation and training for goalkeepers combines the use of multiple physical abilities and skills that can be applied across a variety of sports. I want my goalkeepers to maximize on their development of all their abilities: physical, technical, tactical, and mental. My goalkeepers will be ready to play and will have improved playing skills at a multiple sports level. |
